Our cool Buoyant Rock defies gravity and other physics laws because it actually floats in water. Actually, the rock is made of pumice and it makes a pretty cool addition to any mineral collection. This volcanic material is so light that it actually floats on water.

I know, you're probably asking what pumice is and how can it float. Well, pumice is a very lightly colored, volcanic rock that is formed from lava that is full of gas. When the lava cools, gas escapes leaving the rock full of holes. This is what makes it float! Now you can try it out for yourself!
